LIBERTY OF THE SEAS120999 -Other Safety- Escape doors from public spaces that are normally latched shall be fitted with a means of quick release. Such means shall consist of a door-latching mechanism incorporating a device that releases the latch upon the application of force in the direction of escape flow. Escape doors from main dining room leading to the exterior deck had thumbscrews on doors.-74(09)II-2/13.3.2.6.2
LIBERTY OF THE SEAS12The normal equipment of every lifeboat shall consist of: food ration for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accomodate; these rations shall be kept in airtight packaging and be stowed in a watertight container. LIBERTY OF THE SEAS12All lifeboats shall be of sufficient strength to enable them to be safely launched into the water when loaded with their full complement of persons and equipment. FREEDOM OF THE SEAS130925 - Every crew member with assigned duties shall be familiar with these duties before the voyage begins. During USCG annual COC exam life-raft station #37 personnel failed to effectively deploy a 35 person life-raft during abandon ship drill - 74 SOLAS(2014) CH III/19.2.1 - 16C
LIBERTY OF THE SEAS12Maintenance, testing, and inspections of life-saving appliances shall be carried out based on the guidelines developed by the organization and in a manner having due regard to ensuring reliability of such appliance. INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS11Passenger ships carrying more than 36 passengers shall be equipped with an automatic sprinkler of an approved type complying with the Fire Systems Safety Code. MSC SEASIDE2Escape doors from public spaces that are normally latched shall be fitted with a means of quick release. The PSCO found the following escape doors were fitted with thumb turn locks which don't open when force is applied: Deck 18: Chico Infant, Sailor Lego, Pirate Lego, Young Lego, and the 2 cross doors in way of Dormaland Reception. MSC SEASIDE2Where "A" Class divisions are penetrated, such penetrations shall be suitably insulated by extension of the insulation at the same level of the division. The PSCO found on Deck 19 in way of technical space door 0190104 a electrical cable penetration in A-0 bulkhead, the stuffing blocks were missing. SOLAS (2014) II-2/9.3.1

ROYAL PRINCESS6Stairways and ladders shall be so arranged as to provide ready means of escape to the lifeboat and life raft embarkation deck from passenger and crew accommodation spaces and from spaces in which the crew is normally employed, other than machinery spaces. ROYAL PRINCESS6Parties responsible for fire extinguishing shall be organized. These parties shall have the capability to complete their duties at all times while the ship is in service. Lifeboat #8 will be taken out of service for replacement of engine. Veassel's lifeboat complement accomodates 3900 persons, meeting the minimum 37.5% capacity on each side. Vessel is required to reduce total number of persons onboard to 5050. -III/21.1.1.1
